This Moment - Sister's - same last name no more ...

This is one of my favorite photos from my wedding - it was very impromptu and un-rehearsed, my sister put her elbows on my shoulders and folded her hands on my head.  It was an amazing moment captured.  This was the last day that we both shared the same last name.  Both of us are now married and have started families of our own.  Photographs are an amazing tool to capture a memory.  The background sheet is from the Ledger pad, and I used the new Stationer's Desk collection from Prima for this layout, and coloured up a Paintable ATC card with Distress Markers and Perfect Pearls (sorry about the glare).  I coloured some Scrap FX chipboard pieces with Twinkling H2O's (wow let me tell you that the pigment in those things is amazing!) and used Ranger's Rock Candy crackle on top.  I used various Prima stamps all over the background and a Tim Holtz stencil with heavy gesso, the finishing touch was Say It In Crystals from the same Stationer's Desk collection - I had my doubts that they matched as they looked too light - but they match perfectly!  The flowers are all Prima as well.

Let me know what you think of this layout - I love to hear your comments.  And just a heads up - I will be selecting a winner from one of my comments when my page views reaches 40Kwhich is very soon ... just sayin'!

Prima - challenges - Build A Page and Prima Product Picks

So, maybe going to Art Venture Anaheim has given me an advanced opportunity to share with you some of the new Prima products - The BAP is using the Something Blue collection as well as the background is from the Script stack  The PPP is on a canvas board and I used some of the new resins and a tassel from CHA 2014 release.  The last layout is using the Princess collection - and I'll just mention here how much I love the new Say It In Crystals - they are fantastic - they look like moonstones or iron pyrite to me!

Surprize! Look at your Cake Face ...

A photo of my son on his first birthday - hard to believe he will be turning FOUR in just a couple of weeks ... already in school full time.  Where does the time go?

CAKE FACE

Using the Surprize collection from Bo Bunny I wanted the letter to pop a little so I used my fine tip Sharpie to doodle around the word surprize.  I used red ink to distress the edges to bring out the red of the paper line, and dripped some Heidi Swapp color shine in Sweet Cherry. A toilet paper roll and gesso for the random rings.  The balloons I used Utee and Versamark on to make them more dimensional. The title is Basic Grey chipboard letters.

Thanks for looking!

Prima Build A Page July 2013 entry

Using Lyric collection and the Prima Build-a-Page sketch for July.  I used heavy weight gesso, color shine, stamping, and of course Prima flowers and embellishments.

I squeaked this under the wire.  Prima has a new way of submitting your BAP entries now, you have to do it right from their blog post, instead of emailing the.  I kinda liked the old way, because it meant that someone was actually looking at the entries and selecting which ones to feature on their blog.  Now, unless you scroll to the bottom of the blog post you won't even know the entries are there.  And they are only thumbnail sized.  So, I have provided you a larger view of my layout.  I also posted it on my Facebook (and tagged Cari LOL)

Photo Bomb, Cari Fennell of Prima.  It was a humorous moment actually.  I was posing for a photo and Cari jumps in behind and makes this teethy grin - I love the spontaneity of this photo, the quality is not really there, but it was cute nonetheless.  I wonder if she will even see it?  What is even funnier is the very next photo was Emma trying to photo bomb Cari photo bombing me ... and all you can see of Emma in that photo is a blurry shot of the back of her head and not much of Cari or I - not scrapworthy, LOL

More from the Mega Challenge - En Francais

Um yeah, I'm not writing this blog post En Francias - but it's all about the Prima paper line En Francais collection!  This is part three of my projects created with this line - and I'm still not out of paper or inspiration.  It truly is a versatile collection.

Lost A Mitten

I used some gesso to create white space then stamped over the gesso with the script stamp from this collection. Some Tim Holtz tickets in the corner, and a combination of Prima alphas and Thickers for the title.  Sepia photos are particularly perfect for this line.

I used a Prima mask on this layout with modeling paste and Pan Pastals to give texture to the feather in the corner.  I used another mask and tinted gesso with gelatoes and then painted with gelatoes for the bricks.  You see that folk - more BOY layouts, LOL and flowers on every single one of them too *grinz*

An Elf On A Shelf - mixed media style

So, I have been watching the She-Art trend take over the scrapbooking and mixed media world for about a year now.  I have to say, I do like Christy Tomlinson's style, but I wasn't sure if I 'got' the She-Art movement.  What does that have to do with An Elf On A Shelf you ask?? Well that's another really *hot* thing going on right now - this little elf that you purchase to keep an eye on your kids and report back to Santa.  I'll be the first to admit, they are a little creepy looking.  So, I decided I wanted to try my hand at the She-Art and in doing so I decided to do it Elf On A Shelf style.  So, here is my first attempt - not exactly what I was thinking, it's not a great likeness of "Lucy" our elf, but hey I had fun with the process, and I will do it again.
