Cherish the Moment

This is the first photo I have scrapbooked since I my mother passed away.  It was hard, but the paper line I was working with is all about grandmothers.  I didn't realize that when I picked it up.  I bought it because it was pretty, and my colours; pink and mint green and beige.

I decided to use a photo of my daughter when she was only a few months old in my Mom's arms. It was such a rainy day, miserable actually, we were at RCMP Sunset Ceremony.  Vanessa was just learning to walk, and with learning to walk comes a lot of stumbling and falling.

I did a card with the left overs from this collection.  I stamped out a Penny Black stamp; called Tiger Lilly (which I coloured up to be a stargazer lily, my favorite) with my Copics.

Prima Marketing - Engraver mini-album

Prima's Engraver line is very distressed and grungy and right up my alley.  I love the browns and blacks with this line.  I created this 10 page album with chipboard.  I used a few sheets from the Ledger pad too, the browns and beige really worked well.  The prima chalk ink in Dark Bark was the perfect choice for distressing the edges.  I created many pockets and flaps with this album, plenty of places for hidden photos or journaling.  Of course I used lots of prima flowers and Vintage Trinkets.  The tickets are Tim Holtz.

It's that time of year again....

Last day of school!  I remember when I was going to grade school I was so excited for the last day of school.  I can't say that my daughter is, she is finishing her first year of school (Junior Kindergarten).  She tells me how much she is going to miss seeing her friends every day, and telling her teachers stories.  I get it, she is social like me!   In the fall she will be going back, with her brother in tow!  Both of them full time ... where has the time gone?  Why have my babies grown up so fast?

So, I put together a little gift and a card to give to each of the teachers and her bus driver.  It is my amazing Jalapeno pepper jelly.  And if you are looking for the recipe please see this post. http://scrapingcorner.blogspot.ca/2011/09/recipe-time.html  I decorated up the lid with some flowers, Prima of course!

The card, I have to admit it was mostly a scraplift, I saw an adorable image somewhere that was handprints in a heart, I put it into a card, so thank you to whoever you are out there that created the original on this card, I am humbled!

Well there you have it folks - quick and easy ... and long over due - I have been neglecting not only my blog but my studio too.  Soon, I hope I will have some more things to share with you.  Until then ... there is only 6 more months until Christmas - have you started your shopping yet???

Crop & Create is coming to CORNWALL!!!

Yes, it's true!  So mark you calendars - Scrapbook & Cards Today is bringing their Crop & Create to Cornwall.  I went to it last year when it came to Ottawa, and although it was a difficult time in my life that I was going through (my mother passed away a few short weeks later) I had a fantastic time, meeting like minded women from my area and taking in a fantastic class.  This year I plan to be taking 3 classes.

Here's a little something I bet you didn't know - there are vendors at Crop & Create - and I know who they are going to be!  One of them may just happen to be my favorite little scrapbook store :)
