Due to popular demand I will be teaching at Auntie Em's Scrapbooking an Introduction to Copic Markers class on Saturday, May 26th starting at 1:30 pm. Class fee of $65.00 + HST applicable. You need not bring anything (maybe a pencil/pen and a notepad - but not necessary) If you already own any copic markers it is suggested that you bring them, as you may wish to experiment with other colours.

So if you missed the classes earlier this year, I will be running the same class again. This class will include SIX markers to get you started as well as different techniques of colouring and blending.

The colours included in the class are as follows:

Guest Designer for We R Memory Keepers

I was out of my skin excited when We R Memory Keepers selected me as one of their featured guest designers!  I was even more excited when the Anthologie line arrived in my mailbox and I got to play with all of the amazing mint greens, peachy pinks mixed with teal and brown ... perfect colours, all with a book text background and a very distressable feel to them. I think they were reading my mind when they put together this collection.

I was able to squeeze out 3 layouts, 5 cards, and an altered birdhouse with this collection.  So on the We R Memory Keepers Facebook Page you will see all of my cards, but right here you .... lucky you viewing my blog, you get to see all of the projects!  And if you would like to see all of my projects in person, you can view them at Auntie Em's Scrapbooking!

Inspired by Prima

I recently had the most amazing opportunity of attending a two day workshop with Cari Fennell of Prima Marketing when she stopped in little old Cornwall.  I took in three classes that consisted of an altered tin filled to the brim with tags; two layouts; and a canvas mini album.

I really enjoyed myself, getting to try out the Pan Pastels.  Something I will be investing in the near future I predict!

So, needless to say, I picked up several sheets from the three lines that Auntie Em's is carrying in store currently, and went to town with my leftovers and created the following layout and card with the Fairy Belle line. It really is much nicer in person though ... so if you would like to see it up close and personal - please stop by Auntie Em's to have a look!

I used texture paste with a template to create a chicken wire texture.  I layered several paper Prima flowers and attached with a brad to create a thick flower.  I used Helmar Scrapdots to float the title above the flowers and photo. A wooden ticket, a metal charm and a tile topped off the layout.

And a Card .... for my Mommy :o)  I used a resin piece in the corner and gave it some colour with my Copic's and gave the fairy some texture to her wings with a bit of liquid pearl and then outlined her wings too.

Well let me know what you think .... I love to hear your comments!

Sunshine and happiness - welcome spring!

May is here - which means all the pretty flowers are blooming, the weather is warming up, and the days get longer and my kids will be in better moods and I will be once again relieved from "sock matching duty" man do I hate doing that - I hate socks in general - but I hate to have to match them up into pairs and distribute the correct socks back to their owners.  Ah the sweet smell of summer around the corner, oh how I missed you!

This month at Auntie Em's we are featuring the Bella Blvd. line called Sunshine & Happiness and using the Pagemaps Calendar.  We are using embossing techniques.  I found that this collection has alot of bright summery colours too it, in fact in true Bella Blvd. style there are tones of colours, too many really.  I wanted to use some photos of my kiddies from last summer's adventures for this layout.  I chose to pull out the greens and oranges from the layout.  I did some heat embossing with white embossing powder and my Prima "hex net" stamp - oh how I love that stamp, I looked long and hard for it to!  I also masked off the edge of one of the patterned papers and inked and embossed the edge with Antique Linen distress ink and clear embossing powder.  I dry embossed two styles of polka dots behind each of the photo matings, and clear embossed the orange popsicle as an embellishment.  I added some flowers and done done.

Enjoy!!
