Traveling in Time with Prima ....

Have you seen the Time Traveler collection from Prima?  It is fantastic, rusty browns, mustard yellows, and black.  What an amazing colour combination.  The embellishments for this collection are just as spectacular. I do believe that I bought the whole collection .... parts of it in triplicate!

I've been busy making layouts and a mini album with the collection.

Inspired to scraplift - oh yeah I am!

I'll be the first to admit that I get inspired from the work of others - seeing beautiful work from designers or someone who is passionate about their art gets my creative juices flowing.  I came across a layout that did more than that for me - I loved absolutely everything about this layout from the colours, to the products, to the sparseness and negative space.  Louise Nelson is a designer for Prima Marketing; so you know I already love the products.  She used gold on black and kept it simple - and stunning.  You can visit Louise's blog post here

Here is my version of her layout

And here is a photo of Louise's original!  I can't get enough of it! Wowzah!!

Thank you for looking!

Prima Marketing - Engraver mini-album

Prima's Engraver line is very distressed and grungy and right up my alley.  I love the browns and blacks with this line.  I created this 10 page album with chipboard.  I used a few sheets from the Ledger pad too, the browns and beige really worked well.  The prima chalk ink in Dark Bark was the perfect choice for distressing the edges.  I created many pockets and flaps with this album, plenty of places for hidden photos or journaling.  Of course I used lots of prima flowers and Vintage Trinkets.  The tickets are Tim Holtz.

Always Stealing Kisses From You - Romance Novel

I couldn't pass up the chance to play with the Romance Novel collection from Prima - this collection is designed by Marion Smith.  She is a super talented designer for Prima - and I've always been a fan of her.

I love pink, that's no secret.  I love vintage, again no secret.  What I didn't know is that I could put both together with black!  Thanks for opening my eyes to this Marion!

I took this very candid shot of my husband stealing a kiss from our daughter while she was playing at a local playground, I don't think either of them knew I was ready with the camera in hand.  The photo turned out very dark because of where they were (under the play structure) but I love it none-the-less!

For this layout I used some Gesso to tone down the background page, and some of the other papers.  I tore the paper and added some flowers peeking out of the tear, followed by one of Prima's amazing zipper pulls - love these!  In the corner is some molding past through a stencil and some bling and more flowers.  This was a quick and easy.  I have tones more Prima goodies to play with, so I may be able to squeeze another few layouts out of this collection.
